AllMorgan started as a family blog to keep extended family and friends around the world apprised on what’s going on at our Indiana homestead. It always been a cross between a family diary and photo album, but as our kids became more independent, it has allowed us to turn it in to so much more. I’m Jason, and along with my wife Susan, we document our families journey towards subsistence living here.
Before our first child was born, we vowed to move out of the city where we could make the home we wanted; efficient, earth-friendly, yet still spacious… and most importantly, our own. Over the years, as we claimed our space, it grew into something we call the “Morgan Ranch.”
Susan aggressively works on both our families genealogy. Uncovering my family’s past has been an inspirational experience for me personally. Knowing who I am, and where I came from has inadvertently had an effect on the direction I have been heading. I was fortunate to end up with a lot of “family relics” and having ancestors practicing the art of blacksmithing, beekeeping, winemaking, hunting, trading, inventing, collecting and more… it has set a standard that I seek to live up to.
This site tells our story, and we hope the information we share here is helpful, and even inspirational to you too. Find daily posts on our Facebook group, The Morgan Ranch, where like-minded people share their ideas and experiences too.
